Nice, I like that color scheme! bit of a shame to put such a large sticker over such a nice color, but it looks good!

Very nice :-)
I have 2 noob questions...
What kind of cable is the grey one? and where is it possible to buy it?

That is shielded cable. The Dr. Boogie is a high gain circuit and shielded wire helps cut down the chance of the circuit oscillating. If you search for shielded wire or shielded cable you should be able to find it. Specifically though, I think smallbear carries it.

Thank you.

I found these from smallbear:

and this one from banzai:

Thanks! :) I know what you mean about covering up the color, though. I wrestled a bit with that decision. My compromise was to make the label a bit smaller so that at least a good portion of the enclosure edges were visible.

It works just fine. There are a few changes on my build.
The 2k pot was a 5k with a 5.1k across the lugs.
The 25k pot was a 100k with a 39k  across the lugs.
The 20pF was subbed with a 100pF
C12 was subbed with an electro as I ran outta non polar.
Oh and I had to put a 20nf and 10nF in parallel for the c21.

I biased the jfets all to 4.5v or near as damnit. It sounds fantastic. I may yet tweak the bias to see, but for me the level of hiss is totally acceptable for such a high gain circuit.
I used shielded cable throughout, as you can see a bit longer than I should have but I wanted things flexible and did the wiring outside of the enclosure.

My only gripe is my big 1nF box caps and the 100pF wimas are too big really for this layout. I dare say ceramics for the small values woulda worked well.
All in all it was a squeeze but it works first time, no issues. The tone controls (the treble in general) seem very "interactive". Is this expected / normal?

Cheers!

This layout it´s great from RICK great idea!!! but why you made those changes of the condensers? the C12 would be tantalum? is little for that PCB!!! thanks for your effort's it's good work  :icon_lol:

I simply used what I had available. I could have waited and ordered special parts but I wasnt bothered to do that. It works just great just isnt as neat and tidy as it might be.
Its for my consumption only though, so it doesnt matter.

Not really a pedal. More like a multifx. I named it : Too Many Knobs. This is a long term project that finally got finished this week end. Now, I only need some knobs.

With the ''show off'' LED   :P

Inside the beast

The layout was printed on AVERY transparent sticker and clearcoated many time

Inside there is : Tube screamer, Big Muff Pi, MXR D+, Dynacomp + attack/decay mod, Smallclone chorus + lfo speed mod and vibe switch, Tremulus lune + symmetrical mod, Rebote 2.5, Dr quack replaced by a Butchered version of the Neutron filter with knobs which don't relate to the text on the layout and the classic MXR booster.

I'm now addicted to that. Many more pedal will come!

This is a Booster i made today.

Why the center-positive 9v supply, instead of the usual center-negative?

Rangemaster maybe? Isn't it center negative (if built with PNP trannies)?
If it ain't broke...   ...it will be soon.

First pedal in a long time.....had to take some time off for life..  :)

This is the first pedal in my "Functional Art" series of pedals.  It incorporates an old well known optical illusion picture.

Can you tell me what you see in this etched graphic?
Completed Builds: A lot...

Only battery?  Put a DC jack in that empty hole ;)

Thanks!   Good idea.  That's were I had  the output jack but it wouldn't clear.  DC would be just fine.  I actually like battery only boxes, though.  The one power supply that I have has a short in it.  I'd rather have a bunch of rechargers than a bunch of cords.  Just me, I just hate power cord more than rats....

I had in stock an adaptor with this polarity.

Hello together,
i finished my "Distortion Plus", it got some updates:

- low-current-led installed
- input-signal is on ground while bypassed
- original LM741CN installed (soldered directly)
- original creme-coloured pcb-material
- selected ceramic-caps

...for those who don't know it, here's my "Distortion Plus":

Greetings
