here's my latest (re-)build, my MEP OVERDRIVE PREAMP 250,
a DOD OVERDRIVE PREAMP 250 - Clone (gray seventies version)...

It got a new color and design, a low-current-led,
selected ceramic-caps, a NOS LM741CN from National Semiconductor
and selectable clipping-diodes (toggle-switch): 1S1588 / 1N914

Hi Magnus. Great build (my favorite pedal) and good looks as usual again! I don't personally believe in the myth that NOS parts make any audible difference, but still like to see them just to add a touch a vintage authenticity. I like using them only to bring back something from the past era the clone represents if I can. Keep up the good work!

The new one in the pic is a highly modded Os Mutantes fuzz with a tone control crushed in there ala the forementioned project. It is very LOUD. I will get a demo of it soon.

Oh, based on a Colorsound? WOuldn't have guessed, sounds very different than what I would expect from that circuit, the Muff tonestack really changed the character of it in an interesting way.

What do you mean cut legs? They're in sockets? Or do you mean the missing pins... that's how 3005s come, with only 8 pins.

470uF is for power filtering, as in the original, this needs as much filtering as it can get.

Yes, I think that selecting the right values of the capacitors
make more change in the overall-tone than the mojo-parts
and I use them for authenticity too...
