Nah, it's easy, first you move the MOSFET to the side so you can bolt it to the enclosure, then you won't need a heatsink (I use a 18N50 instead of the IRF740 and it generates a lot less heat, but anyway).

Then you move some things to the other side of the enclosure, and you're done.

I'll see what I can do about a sound clip, I don't own a cab, so I've only tested it with a Logitech speaker yet. Will see if I can find both a cab and someone who can play guitar  ::)

Size reference with the commonest items I could find, a sim card from a mobile phone and a USB cable (by the way, if it helps with judging size, those are 13mm knobs).

My co-worker when I showed him the actual amp instead of just the pics I've posted; "Oh, it's a lot smaller than it looks in the picture". Well, it is a 1590A so most you guys here should know the size.

That is Killer. I love the photo - Great setting.  I like it when you get a look at the background of the pedal pics.

Need a Cappucino to go along with the Biscotti Amp!
And you'll have to admit, I'll be rich as shit
I'll just sit and grin, the money will roll right in....

Cool, so what are you planning to make with it?

Just experimenting with it at the moment, no real plan, just wanted to get into microcontrollers.

Hello together,
great builds and designs - wow!

Here's my latest project, a Sola Sound Tone Bender MKII PROFESSIONAL
with all the vintage-mojo including a real etched pertinax-board,
selected carbon-film-resistors, selected caps, shielded wire and OC75-transistors...
Only the best parts were used.

New Fv-1 based pedal, not quite finished but working great.

^^^ Ah, good to see you got it working.

Pigyboy

It is a joy to see all of these great recent projects.

Hey Magnus,
That is beautiful. Great work on forming the shielded cable too & I know from experience it is hard to keep that old pcb material from cracking and separating on the edges. Yours looks clean. Is it all hard wired underneath or is it etched?

You hang out at the DAM forum too, yes?

Cheers,
Chris

It is an etched pcb...

No, only at the german forum "Musikding" and here at DIY-Stompboxes,
but sometimes I take a look on those pages too...

@John: That looks really great! How do you do the bicolor painting?

edit: I made a quick test with masking tape. The result is quite good. Is it really that simple?

I call it (the) Housefly.

Dude tell me about this thing! do you have a schematic? I want to build one for myself. How hot is the output? 5w? 8w? take some shots of the inside!

More like 1W or less, it's a Superfly check here for more info. I'll post my schematics for a 1590A build as soon as I've had time to compile them into something someone else can understand. There are gutshots of my build at the end of that thread and in the "Show me your 1590A enclosures" thread.

It's not hard to do, just takes some time and patience.
I'm sure you can do it.  ;) Thanks for the kind words.
