finally settled on a set of transistors ;D :

Incredible build.  Where did you get that enclosure?  I made a wooden one for the mk1 im working on cause i couldnt find a decent metal case.  I thought about the jorgan from pedalenclosures, but i think ill stick with the wooden enclosure.  Ill just have to line it with aluminum on the inside to sheild it.

Here is a stompbox evolution comparision shot. These four pedals in my collection are like cousins directly related to each other, having the same basic circuit design. Left to right: 1980 MXR Distortion+ (DIY replica PCB repair), 1982 Ross R50 Distortion (replaced bad DC jack), 2006 DOD YJM308 Preamp Overdrive (gray spec mod), and my 2011 Neo-Classic 741 Overdrive clone (from scratch DIY) which is based on the 1979 gray DOD Overdrive Preamp 250.

Guitar > Neo-Classic 741 Overdrive > Boss NS2 Noise Suppressor > DOD BiFET Boost 410 > VHT Special 6 Ultra Combo Amp Input > Amp Send > MXR Carbon Copy Analog Delay > Boss RC3 Loop Station > Amp Return

Any problems with ticking ?? Nice build by the way.

Hey Niki, why have you decided to place the DC jack there? Won't it interfere with the output cable?

It's pretty common practice, and doesn't interfere at all. I prefer mine at the back, but when layout calls for it, it can be nice having your ground point on the jack closer to all parts that need a ground (switch, LED, board, etc.). It can make for much less wiring and a good point to star ground.
