I was losing my mind trying to debug a simple build that I've built similar versions before and cant make the stupid thing work.  So, to relieve stress, I decided to make my first filter, a  DOD FX25 with a mod or two... perf'd, boxed, and closed it up.  Pluged it in and it worked with no problems... which actually makes the other pedal that much more frustrating.

...and I  had to vent somewhere!

The solderside is a little sloppy ( and missing about 3 power connections)... I arbitrarily decided to use some random and oddly sized caps I had floating around and threw my layout off a bit while working or it'd be tidier.

Going to maybe try making my first waterslide decal.  If its a powdercoated enclosure, can I just clearcoat over that?

Ohhh my wiring pride.

Oh well, i'll just have to end it all now.

Yup, I do it all the time.

Maybe not a pedal/stombox PCB, but a work in progress (50W 6L6 amp, this is the preamp an Phase inverter part)

:D  Your wiring is gorgeous of course. Wiring is neater than it looks just struck me as an instant classic. I'm lobbying Small Bear to carry plastic meatballs to toss into my spaghetti bowls. I come from a strictly utilitarian build ethic, out of sheer necessity, so I'm in awe of the professional results here.

I should probably introduce myself. A google search dropped me into page 750 of this porn wonderland. I read to the end, totally amazed by the results you guys are achieving, and digging the encouraging, supportive vibe around here.

I've clearly gotta up my game if I want to hang with you dudes.
I'm Kato from Indianapolis. My sh*t looks like sh*t. It works great and sounds great, but until now I wrongly believed pro results were out of reach of the average DIYer.

Typical builds of mine have no stompswitch, no battery clip, and no indication of what's inside.
I just learned this week that standard 9v middle pin is ground. Mine are wired positive center to work with cheap answering-machine DC adapters. Hope you don't mind me sullying your gorgeous model porn with these skanks.

Here's a Craig Anderton Bass Fuzz (bottom) and DOD250 top:

Sometimes I get all fancy and use spray paint and sharpie:

Then I crammed a DOD envelope filter into a tiny enclosure. Labeled with iron on toner:

Then I bought a pack of waterslide to label a rangemaster:

And now I'm here. I guess it's time to try my first enclosure etch.   :icon_eek:

Thanks for the welcome. It's 3.9" x 2" x 1".  I got it from Jameco in 1998; it was their cheapest metal enclosure which appealed to my cheap side. It sat around for 8 years because I couldn't fit anything into it.

It seems to be this enclosure although it came with a perfboard cut to size so it might be slightly different. Dimensions are the same.
