There are 5 separate projects on this page (so far).  Of all of the projects with switches (4), all of them have the locking washers on the outside of the pedal.

YOU'RE ALL TROLLS!  :P

;D   and those @#$%ing white washers......  :icon_mrgreen:

Fuzz Aldryn

More white washers (and yep, in my opinion they are necessary constructionwise).

Its a modified/updated silicon fuzzbrite including the missing 22k resistor, a better power supply filtering and a post gain stage for more output.

Oh, i really like the graphic of this one,
well done Fuzz Aldryn.

I don't mind the white washers. But the locking nuts on the outside of the enclosure are driving me crazy.

Please explain... it's there to mechanically keep the nut from spinning off. I think they look better than loc-tite, lol. I can understand the white washer hate, though. I use them, but I get the aesthetic reasoning.  ;D

people tend to incorrectly put them on the outside, on top of the washer.
they should be on the inside, no?

I mean, if they're inside the enclosure, then nobody can see 'em!

Inside or outside they're still doing their job!

True to a point. On stomp switches, you are more likely to kick the outside nut loose than the nut on the inside vibrating loose. The LED bezel, well... that washer should be on the inside, between the case and the nut.

The white washer is there to keep the lock washer from gouging the surface of your pedal... it keeps it looking purdy! I found some black ones at Ace that are just a hair larger than the lock washer... I think they'd look pretty awesome in place of the white pancake washers.

Here... maybe this will help: How to Use Lock Washers & Lock Nuts

It was very very hard to fit the tolex but i'm happy.

I put a impedance control to use the range master with active pickups.

Hi,
my second one: a Four Knob RAT - MKII, from Beavis Audio Research, this time with aluminium box, and ferric chloride  but etching haven't turned so pretty...
And guts are a bit messy too, 'cause box is too small, so I barely fited everything inside...

snarblinge

It's a hardware store... don't start being a d*ck, please. http://www.acehardware.com/home/index.jsp (I say that because common sense says that I probably don't buy black plastic washers from some guy named Ace)  :icon_evil:

Don't apologize for the outside... that thing looks tough! Like it took a beating and giggled about it.  :icon_twisted:

Here... maybe this will help: How to Use Lock Washers & Lock Nuts

The point of the lock washer is to put tension in the system, which is what keeps the nuts from coming loose.  (Star washers don't put MUCH tension in the system, but they do provide enough.)  It doesn't matter, functionally, if it is inside or out, but it does have some cosmetic effect, and it LOOKS better on the inside.  But it is a purely cosmetic concern, so put it where ever you want.  Personally, I replace the white washer with a dress washer from an end pin jack (because I've got hundreds of extras around the shop), and put the lock washer on the inside.

My first ever graphics on a project. Vinyl sticker from my local Fastsigns!

The image is a cover of a 7" single by a band from the 1990s that my current bandmates used to be in. It depicts Octavias in space. That cover is itself an homage to this lp sleeve by the late 60s synth-diy band Silver Apples

I see everybody hatin' white washers. Why ?

Make them from perspex, larger, 4mm thick, and sand them. Drill a led-sized hole under, stick a flat-sanded led in it.

=> you get a nice on/off indicator around your footswitch, tc-electronics voicelab-like.

Wow... Just wow... That seemed like a perfectly valid question to me. Considering snarblinge is from New Zealand (where they don't have Ace Hardware), and the fact that his question doesn't seem to indicate anything about a "person" (Who doesn't HAVE to be a person.. Q: "Who carries black washers?" A: "Ace Hardware does.")

Maybe I'm missing some intended humor but your post seemed out of line.
