Really dig the artwork and attention to detail. Is that a christmas light in there?

It's the rocket body led from Banzai.
The box is etched and finished with layers of transparent paint.

Hi guys. I finish a simple A-B switcher.
Here is how it looks


I use 2 different sheets for the front pannel. Both are laser engraved. The big one is from anodized aluminium, the small logo at the bottom is from 1mm stainless steel.

why is it that most pedals has the input on the right and the output on the left side?

^ Not most, all pedals has this design concept. Think about what will be happen if you use a combination of pedals with reversed and non reversed inputs and outputs

The laser etching on the anodized aluminum you did is very nice. Much more fine lines than I could get with UV etching those sheets. Good job!

because unfortunately most people are right handed....unlike us superior lefties...

its always a pita with my cable...

of course i'd have to swap my wah/volume jacks too...but i think it would actually be worth it personally...makes sense!...

My equipment is bass, tuner and amplifier. Sometimes I use wah and overdrive, but rare. For me it is not a big deal that the signal path is reversed

fair enough....its just bugging that my guitar lead is left..and pedals are right....so it always trails in front of me....

could always go wireless i guess!...

I've considered running my wah in/outs in reverse just because I use it on the right, but it is at the end of the chain, but I my phaser runs right after that, so it would still make a big loopy mess. My band laughs at me when I start pulling out my pedals... both my guitarists use Boss (ME-50 and ME-8). Once I get my board done (if), I may still swap them around. I threw me for a loop the first time I saw that, but I've been pondering it ever since.

BTW, Nikolay... that Switcher is beautiful! Do you use corner punches or just trim/drill and file by hand?

@Petey: Keep puking on it... it's looking pretty badass! I definitely wanna see that when it's done. I love seeing how people utilize masking techniques.

Both panels are made with laser cutting and engraving. I drill the holed of the enclosure before painting first.

not all pedals are designed like this. i have been separated from my gear... and computer, and the internet (and no, i don't live in a cave far far away!!) for 6 months so i don't quite remember well, but there is at least the black russian big muff pi that has its input and output reversed, and i'm sure i saw several other pedals in that case!

I have never considered this! I always wondered why they where right to left when we read left to right. You could build a custom board with jacks built into it so regardless of the pedal orientations you could just always plug into the left side of the board...

I'm lefty too.  When I set up my first bread-board I intuitively did it "lefty".  It wasn't until I saw all of the pictures that I noticed that I was putting my wires opposite convention.

thanks earthscum . this pedal is a GGG ftm . i have a dano ftm clone i was gonna mod / rehouse , but i did the flanger and lifted traces so ....

anyway , we are huge adrian belew fans here , my kid and i took 3rd pace in his "finish my demo " contest a few years back too .

i have been using the blue painters tape and BOY is it tough to get a well defined "clean" straight line !!!

any tips on this , now that i am almost finished with it ?
