Thanks for the information on the enclosure! That is a great idea as you can make it any length.

Yep :) Just be careful about the real dimensions, don't expect these profiles to be as precise as let's say Hammond cases. E.g. in my case height was ca 29mm, width 68 to 69mm, profile's shape at one end differred from the shape on the other end etc. Perfectly suitable for this use, you just have to consider it when planning layout.

Thanks also for posting the wiring schematic.  I notice that the resistors and capacitors on the vcc vary for the different effects.  I am curious as to how you decided on the values for each effect.

Oh, that was not much of a science - I have used 10R almost everywhere as I had them on hand and it's a "reasonable" value, just for the compressor I have used 30R to have little more of filtering as this part is the most sensitive (this fx amplifies signal a lot at some moments). Btw. note that the flanger and the compressor have some filtering on-board, that's why the external filtering differs as well.

Very nice!  You should photograph that on on a grill or maybe sitting on a large bun!

I think I'm gonna build one inside a hollowed-out magic 8-ball.

There's some amazing and beautiful builds on here! I almost don't wanna do this...

I've lurked around on here long enough reading and learning, getting ideas and what not, so thought it was time to share my humble effort.

I took an old DSL modem/router...

and made it into this...

and the messy gut shot...

Left is a one chip/one knob PT2399 chorus i made ages ago, middle is a twin ECH84 distortion (based on http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=96011.0), and right is a basic CMOS overdrive (CD4069).
Not my first builds, despite how they look! I did a coloursound inductor-less wah that I put in a busted bespeco weeper for my first build as well as a few other "things", nothing spectacular really.

Keep up the fantastic work everyone, and thanks for the inspiration and knowledge!

Thanks! not quite the same level as other things on here, but it was a fun few days getting it together, and it all worked first time!  ;D

Don't sell yourself short! Pretty darn good recycling effort plus it looks great!!

Now... go put something over those exposed tubes for heaven's sake!!  :icon_lol:

Hehe yeah, that's still something I need to figure out. It'll do for now though, just for noodling around at home, as long as it's stored away from 6 and 8 year old boys...  ;)

Now I just need reverb, and sort out some serious noise problems with amp and guitar!   ???  ::)

Cool!  I like the way you appear to have painted the enclosure and then used a scribe or engraver to label it.   Good use of existing electronics that most would have chunked in the trash!  I've got a couple of dead routers that are also destined to become pedals. My first project was a noise gate which I housed in an old CB radio enclosure. I've also scavenged a lot of components from the CB's PCB as well.

Looking forward to seeing more! :)

Thanks for that. It's actually just a silver pen my wife uses for seasonal card and gift signing... all I had to hand!
I'll use anything I can for enclosures, amp footswitches, cd-rom drive cases, etc.
I've got an enclosure from a marshall drp-1 I've used for dirt boxes. Wanna put a smash drive or something in it, just for fun.

Zen drive, no mods all original. Sounds good on my tranny amp, can't wait to try it on my VOX AC30!  :icon_biggrin:

I gotta find some more screws to fit. Planning to do a transparent brown gloss finish on this, like a beer bottle, any tips?

Nice!  Just a suggestion: you may already have something in mind, but I've seen sliders with a piece of material (probably felt) with a slit for the slider. The material would be placed between the body of the slider and the inside of the enclosure.  The material kind of opens and closes as you move the slider.

I went with some smooth vinyl from the outside of a mic case for the fader material, turned out ok!
Screwed up the finish, I was experimenting with tinted timber varnish to get the brown, I kinda like em looking rough and ready anyway. Next time gonna try Envirotex and pstf pigments.
Fimo knobs, I really like them, look like gumballs! The faders had 2 different sized tabs on them so making my own worked out well.
No room for a battery, but this one live on the pedalboard now.
