Pickdropper, that thing is awesome and pretty close to what im hoping to build. What size enclosure is it? (im looking at having four smaller circuits so it won't need scaling up by too much)

Thanks!
Piss poor playing is why i make pedals.

Thanks, guys!

damn, dude. can i clean your apartment or something?
Man, it seriously needs it after this pedal. It ate all my free time for a while... not much cleaning was happening last week.

@thelonius:  cool, i tried fibre optics on a delay too, but the fibres kept breaking at the point of contact,  i think it was the superglue that affected/rotted the fibres.
Yep, super glue messed up my first attempt, too. Even hot glue can be sketchy because of the heat involved, but if you're fast, precise, and don't use too much, it works. A dual-temperature gun set on the low setting would probably be better than the $5 cheapy I bought at home depot. From what I've heard, the best choice is actually either two-part epoxy or the special glue made for fiber. But hot glue is so fast and cheap...

Also: You just can't bake at all when you're using fiber or hot glue. I tried lots of temperatures and methods, and they all destroyed something. Even temperatures low enough that they don't melt the glue or fiber still make the fiber brittle and prone to breakage. Patience in paint drying is the only way to go, and as you can see from the clear coat halos around my washers, I was not quite patient enough. :D It's possible that very careful application of a heat gun from outside might work, though, especially if you had a small fan ventilating the underside of the pedal. If anyone has any other ideas... please share.

^ aha so superglue was the culprit...confirmed.  cheers man. i'll have another crack at it one day.

i still have plenty of fibres left over... 8)

That is just a stock 1590bb.  Nothing fancy.

And thanks for the kind words, guys.  I've seen the quality of the stuff you build, so I take it as high praise.

@pickdropper

I assume that your Swiss Army pedal is a laser etch over powder coat. How was it done? Engraving shop?

Yeah, this was indeed laser etched.  I did it at work, but I am looking into trophy shops as I don't want to push my luck by using the one at work too often.

Here's a lovepedal superlead (tagboardeffects, awesome layout) for a buddy who wanted one. Sounds pretty damn good! Lots of gain, switch goes from zener to LED clipping, the zener diode sounds really good. Hadn't used one for clipping before. No gutshot this time guys, went to him as soon as it was finished.

Thanks for looking

Nice paint job!

Not very creative graphics on my part, but I needed to get these done. First is a 5/6 stage OTA phaser and the second is a dual delay.

Another Rat pedal - changed the "filter" control to a "tone control", made the cap bigger in the tone control for more range and used a leaky AC128 for the buffer.
(the idea is from the AMZ site http://www.muzique.com/news/leaky-ac128-buffer-redux/)

I made the boards in Eagle and had them fabbed via OHS Park.

Mictester's (from that other forum) relay switching circuit on the small board.

The satan skull graphic was supplied by my band mate (and now pedal owner), used press n peel and electroetched with copper sulfate.

Andrew.

Nicely done Andrew!

I've got some of those relays on the way to build mictester's bypass circuit, how do you like it?

I have no popping at all with this set up. I was careful with my ground layouts,  the LED and relay have their own ground path and filter caps. I use a SPST switch (not momentary) which keeps it simple (no logic used). I like to have the jacks coming off the top side of the box so the pedals can be stacked side by side easily, but that makes for messy internal wiring (at least by my skill level). The relay solves that problem. I also used a 2 pin header jacks for the switch (and battery clip - not installed) so they can be replaced easily.

Andrew.

Edit: just got back from band practice. The relay switching is not silent, with my guitar volume rolled off and the pedal plugged into a fairly loud tube amp, I can hear a slight pop when the pedal is turned on. Not loud enough to matter, but it is not silent like some electronic switching or relay with a mute.
