The culmination of a LOT of assistance from members of this forum AND a collaborative effort with Gord (GGBB) to bring you.....

The Deluxe Electric Mistress Version 4! This is now completely noise free and one of the warmest sounding flangers I have heard. It uses the Reticon RD5106A BBD chip which sounds great! This is the corded transformer based version.

Coming soon... full project and build document courtesy of GGBB that details how to build your own in either the 120V mains version OR the 15-18VDC wall wart version. The BBD can be had on eBay for about $6 (U-barn) and the transformer is a PW-0205 (the same one used in the MXR M117 flanger and other delay-type pedals.) The transformer can also be found on the bay for about $6. For the enclosure, I used a 1590BBS (tall) for my transformer based version but, the wall wart type can probably squeeze into a 1590BB or maybe even a 125B. Gord is handling the layouts so when the build document arrives, it will all be in there.

All in all, I definitely recommend building this. The parts are relatively cheap and the return is awesome!  ;D

Sorry... no gut pics as the self-etched PCB is full size and it would just be a picture of copper and solder  :P

Just seen this, great build. What size of enclosure did you use.

Looks like a Hammond 1550G with pre-powdercoating (Black)

That is EXACTLY what it is.  :-)

sorry for a little OT, but I would like to ask what do you guys think of this:

It works as a 2-Channel Looper with Volume Control or Normal Looper and Expression

1. Main Selector selects between Channel A or B.
2. Loop/Expression switch selects between:
2.1 Normal Looping & Expression Out
       2.2 Looper with Volume

For 2.1 - stereo plug should be use to connect to Exp. Out all the way to the Exp. In of the other pedal
          - mono plug should be use for the Send Only for normal Looping operation

For 2.2 - mono plug should be use to connect to Exp. Out for the Looper with Volume to work (the ring for Exp. Out will now be floating/unconnected)
          - remove mono plug from the Send Only

There are only 3 3pdt Switches:
1 for the main selector labeled as Main Selector 1, 2 & 3
2 for the Loop/Expression labeled as (A)Loop/Expression 1, 2 & 3; (B)Loop/Expression 1, 2 & 3

A friend ask me to make this type of controls, I don't know and I am not sure if this is the best way to do it.

Please tell me if I need to remove my picture for posting in the wrong forum/page.

Thanks

THOMMO

This is the first time I've tried finishing an enclosure 'properly'. It's a Sunshine fuzz, but....seeing as I live in Queensland Australia, which is 'The Sunshine State', I decided to call it the Queensland(QLD) Fuzz(our colour is Moroon). Good ol' red spray paint over grey primer which comes out a lot darker than the can lid suggests. Pretty close to Maroon.
I got home from work today to find my lovely wife had done this 'transfer' method, with a printed pic, gel medium, water and a bit of elbow-grease. I love it!! So guess who's finishing enclosures from now on...lol

Guts, a battery will go in here when the snaps I've ordered arrive.

Cheers, Jason.

Hi Rob,

Your Phase 45 looks fabulous. Superb etch.

However, do I detect pixelation in the graphics? You may be interested to know that Inkscape has an auto-tracing function. Simply import your image (in as high resolution as possible), select it, go to Path -> Trace Bitmap..., and play with the settings. For black and white images, I'd suggest Multiple Scans, Greys, 2 Scans, Smooth off, Stack Scans on, Remove Background on, Options tab -> Suppress Speckles and Smooth Corners both on, Optimize Paths off. The trace will be placed on top of the image, so drag it aside to separate the two. Your image is now a vector graphic! Hooray!

Oh man, thats beautiful.

Cheers and Thanks. It was a labor of love and hate!

This was my lone shelved project for the longest time. With a little help from my friends, it turned out superb!  ;D
