Here's the Modified Q&D Compressor. I am certain I found the layout on this forum, but can't locate the thread now!

It's Jack Orman's "Q&D Compressor" based around the 2166 VCA chip, with Mark Hammer-suggested mods, a single page PDF project that is easy to build and sounds amazing. The wiring's a bit crazy because it was in another enclosure for a while, so the guts look less than perfect (as usual for me)

Easily sounds great run off the mixer like a rack effect if you are into recording and need something in a small enclosure. But also sounds amazing as a stompbox.

Built this years ago but some how ended up in a box not working. I don't know, it works. Quite muddy with the gain up. Clipping switch and frequency knob , Reutz mod I think.

A Little Angel Chorus which I really like. Paint is just three colors dabbed with a paper towel. Looks nice.

The professional-looking and creative art on this thread is truly inspiring and what I use to keep myself from just putting circuits in a box and leaving them bare.

That being said, my first attempt with waterslide decals.

Heavily modified Clari(not), on self etched madbean board, with added feedback control + switch, fuzz lift, and switchable foot control of modulation by way of external photo resistor.
I came up with none of these mods, they are others' ideas.
The vactrol is a different one then called for, and I'm not sure how different the sound is to using the right one. But it's pretty out there.

I found out after building it and doing the art that there is already another pedal with the same name.
Curses, foiled again!

And the dark ugly underbelly.
Mockingbird wish me luck.

sweet looking, john.
are you drilling your own marker holes in those davies knobs on the scarab? if so ,  impressive.
my life is a tribute to the the great men and women who held this country together when the world was in trouble. my debt cannot be repaid, but i will do my best.

Naturally.  :D
It's actually quite simple.
Use the drill press depth stop, a fence on the drill's table and you can bang 'em out.
Add a little off white paint and voila!

Shouldn't the chunky nuts be over if the sloppy fitting knobs thread.

Great looking builds John!

That standard fuzz is way bad,it does octave fuzz also? Where did the pcb come from,or did you make it yourself?
