Built up a Lovetone Cheese Source clone. I had planned on putting it in an angled steel/aluminium enclosure like the original, but my estimates were off.

I'm sure someone out there will get why I called a Cheese Source 'Horace'. Pictsies.

The Cheese side worked first pop, with a fairly diverse range of sounds. Might have to tune in the T1 trimmer, I'm willing to leave it as it is for now. I used Plesur's Feta Complis schematic (thanks!) for the Cheese. I even found a yellow LED for the indicator!

The Brown Source... that was a bit more annoying.

I used Doug Hammond's Tone Source layout and schematic (on the basis that most say it's more usable than the original.) I kicked the stomp switch (couldn't be bothered with testing it out of the box), and... wow, this is seriously anemic. Not much at all. Hmm. Go back and drink my cold tea and eat my tea (I get a bit singleminded sometimes), and pore over DH's schematic, comparing it to my own in Eagle.

Sod. (Interestingly, the language filter made my original two word comment sound a great deal filthier than it was -- think James May, when something goes wrong. Oh %^&*.) A resistor and cap in the feedback for the first opamp are going to the wrong input. Time to get out the sidecutters, solder sucker, and get creative, cos I'm not undoing eight blimmin' nuts to get this thing out to do a proper job of it. So that's why the flying rats nest in the top right corner.

But this is a very nice sounding overdrive! (And on yet another side-track, this pedal lark is forcing me to learn about actual lighting when I take photos!)

@alanp

Very nice!

I see you are on a Lovetone trip as of recent!  ;D

Good Looking build!

(what football, what mountains? you blokes talking in code again?)

I love when I finish a pedal, cause I'm always sikk of them by that time. so, here is the "paizfuss". guess what's inside.

it is quite neat inside, so there is nothing to show. same for the underside, who'd want to see that?

Is it Spitfire like?

Another Cardinal, for a guy in Alabama.

I think this'll be the "official" art, or at least something close to this, from now on. I really like how it turned out. Except I kind of wish I'd used a black DC jack after I switched to the black knobs. I was waffling between white and black.

The lighting makes it look more orange than in real life; it's Galaxy Red from Pedal Parts Plus, probably my favorite red of theirs.

Here it is in sunlight, though that still doesn't show the sparkly-ness:

Unusually productive days for me ... here is my take on Jon Patton / Midwayfairs Cardinal. The Wöbahl Tremolo.

Great thing. I allready regret that i didnt put the WAVE pot on the outside though ::) ... but you cant have Everything...

Cheers!

cool stuff guys...

DA  very cute.. 8)

@bengt. nice, any particular reason you use that 3pdt wiring....?...i used to use that but had 'pop' a lot...
now i'm a 'tonepad wiring 5' convert....no pop here.....much better imo anyway.,. 8)

Yea, i like it this way (i think its the way gaussmarkov do it?) because its intuitive - easy to read - and symmetric. And its practical to have the "-LED"- connector on top middle. I never thought it really made no functional difference?

Thanx blüebünny töö!

^ yes it is the way gaussmarkov does it...

i use 'wiring 5' now 'input grounded on bypass''  no pop at all now..(i presume this drains any charge stored in electros that may cause 'pop' .) whereas i did get pop using gauss version.

My input is grounded on bypass as well, by the diagonal jumper. From what i can see, it is the same principle as yours?

Cheers

New around here, but I've lurked for a while. Mostly on this thread for inspiration. Anyway, here's my contribution.

Fuzz Face I put build on vero for my brother-in-law. (No gut shot–it got messy)

Fuzz Face for me with an external bias knob.

Guts came out quite nice on this one.

This one is one of my favorites: a Devi Ever Electric Brown clone also on vero. This thing SCREAMS!

And finally a Triangle Big Muff clone.

where'd u get that wedge enclosure?

It's a cut down Radio Shack project box. Wanted something like a Maestro box, but on the cheap. Nothing a hack saw and a Dremel can't fix.  :icon_cool: Used some Rustoleum hammertone spray paint for the finish.

Tone Tested Designs

Hey guys been awhile since ive been on here. Heres something i just finished. It was a carl's custom guitars tonebender/ fuzz face pedal that i finally got around to rehousing. I made the bias pot external and added a high pass tone switch at the output. Now it is really versatile and can cover a lot of different fuzz tones
