How can you be married and be studying to be a Priest?   :icon_twisted:

Sounds like you need to audit those upper level classes or else switch teams and start dating an upperclassman. ;)

Currently my plan is to "become buddies" with the lab assistant there and eventually convince him that I'm so cool I deserve to use the laser CNC machine  8)

How are you liking the Loop Core? I was looking at a few loop pedals but ended up going with the Ditto because I found one really cheap :P

its great, ive been after a looper for ages..its  a  direct copy of the boss rc3 apparently...(has all the same features /aux in/usb etc 6 hours of record time 4gb..)

but less than half the price, got mine for £67.00 GBP...i'm loving it..whack a guitar down, overdub bass..along with built in 'drums' ...

seamless changing from 1 loop to another...man, its xmas.. 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)...had to build the loop box though, essential imo..

that's enough advertising.. ;)

Finishing this one up...  wanted to get a pic out.  I am psyched about this one.  Way cool build.

R.G.'s Neutron:

I have a few issues to finish up (I don't like the way the effect switching is, and want to rewire a 3PDT into it).

Had a little bit of errata on the instructions, but worked through it.  The LED/LDR hand rolled vactrol works stellar!  It's funny as I just selected random resistor for the peak out of the drawer-- and it was the right one.  What are the chances of that?!  180R BTW.  Going either direction and the effect was less.  Wow, sometimes you get lucky.  I ended up putting a trimmer in there anyway, but, made it simple to dial it in.

This effect has a VERY high funk level to it.. twangy!  About 3 times the effect of the Snow White I built.  Again, neat, fun build!

I will post some better pics and a gut shot once I have time to finish it.  Tomorrow if my luck continues!

I've been trying to find a decent auto-wah build (my guitar rig is finished, I need one for my keyboard rig :icon_twisted:). Is this one you would recommend?

It's pretty awesome.  Building the vactrol was fun too.  The board is high quality and a joy to work with.

OK -- a better pic.  All buttoned up now.  Added a 3PDT so I could cut the power to the board when the effect was bypassed.  It was still "reading" the input and the envelope light was lighting when "off."  The etch turned out pretty good.  I went for a deep etch and ran it longer than I normally do.  So, I got a couple shadows, and it was slightly over-etched.  But, good enough to be a keeper regardless.  Narrowing in on the "perfect" amount of time.  2 minutes is not enough, and 3 1/2 minutes in this case was too long.  I'm guessing 2 1/2 to 3 minutes in the future will be the ticket.  I really like the way the layout turned out on this.  I had to give it some thought to make everything fit with the art I selected:

And, the gut shot.  You can see the home-made vactrol on the left.  I blew up the red one before I even started with overvoltage.  :(  You can also see the addition of the peak trimmer in the middle.

The one inside is the "green" LED model.  It worked so well, I did not even bother to experiment further.  It is just a plain old green diffused LED, with Tayda LDR's.  Worked awesomely.  I liked the quality of this PCB a lot.  It was a fun build.  A little more challanging, and rewarding.
