pedal doesn't work now!!!!

i have a dod 250 clone that i'm having a problem with when i frist put the unit together it worked fine as i looked into putting different cap  to give it more bass  and changed the ic the thing will not work now ,but when i put my finger over the ic and squezze i hear it  ,but when i let go it fades out? where would i start i have changed elec. caps resistors to no help .it worked fine until a changed ic?

Some suggestions

- IC in wrong orientation
- bent IC pin not making contact
- incompatible IC type
- poor solder joints
- poor quality IC socket
- dead IC

I would suggest you put back the original to see if that still works, then that gives you some hints as to what might be wrong with the new IC.

THANKS FOR THE ADVICE THAT WAS IT BROKEN IC SOCKET NOW I'M OFF AND RUNNING.
