Does any one have a pix of what  a heat sink looks like ? Alligator clips or "roach" clips I know about. What do you guys use ? I know how they're to be used, but just a proper way to use them.
Thanks in advance

Smaller alligator clips do a fine job IMO and IME.
Sometimes I use needle nose pliers, mostly when pulling a component though.

Randar, the proper way to use them is to clip them between the part of the lead that you are wiring and the actual component. This way it will absorb some of the soldering heat before it reached the component. Hope this helps.
