Hello !

I have a little problem deciding which schematic is good enough to build.

1) I need some Octave up pedal (I must say that I would like to build something more complicated than putting together 3 transistors, there was some  japanese schematic of octaver but I can't find it anymore) What would you suggest me to build (need nice tone and it must be something more than 3 transistors)!

2) I need some Blues tone. In this area I don't have any thoughts so please I beg you give me some advice.

Thank you !!!

I don't know that I would slight the 3 transistor pedals, as being less than adequate. There's a gob of them that are awsome. I personally like the Simple Octave Up, and I believe it's just a single op amp, diodes and a transformer, but it's a smoker! If you're just wanting to challenge yourself by building something more complicated, you can build the Super Fuzz or Ace Fuzz Tone, which I believe are both 5 transistor circuits. I know there are other more involved circuits too. RDV used to have some blues sound samples playing the Super Fuzz. You can also go to Tone Frenzy, and listen to what pedal you might want to build too. It wouldn't surprise me though that after you look up it's schematic, that it'll be one of those enemic 3 transistor pedals you're talking about! My advice is to go for tone, and not what circuit is the most populated.

They're all good all differnt too.
I like my Tycho and Green Ringer with Fuzz Face...
Superfuzz can be Wild too, in a much different way, especially with the notch filter engaged.
many prefer the FTM for the strong Fuzz / Solid Octave, but doesn't get the 'wierdness I prefer.
SOU is going to be hard to beat for the parts count, octave amount, versatility, and simplicity.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

Try Ampeg Scrambler. It's a kind of surprising octaver and produces wonderful sounds.
