I've been looking at buying one of these, but I haven't had the chance to play one yet - I figured it would be something different than the TS style OD's.  Originally, I thought of building one from scratch, but now I'm leaning towards buying one and just modding it to taste.

I saw some previous posts about this and I was wondering what kind of success people have had with modding it.  If you have done it, would you go the same route again, or build from scratch?  If time wasn't such a factor, I'd probably just build it, but I'm not sure when I'll have the time to get through everything.  Modding a pedal can go a lot faster - but if it's not worth it, I'll take the time and build from scratch.

Are the RI's true bypass (I'm guessing no)?

For fun and a very "boutique" finish, never mind some nice "mods"-Build
For 29 dollars or something silly - Buy  !!
It would cost me that ( UK ) to build !!

I say build - a very easy build and can customize as well. Actually, Im going to buy one now that i built one.

build it. the new one isnt true bypass and has a wierd tip power jack. i "modded" mine to death, it wasnt hard to lift and ruin the pads.

maybe buy a new one for the case, jacks, pots and put a board with sockets for opamp, diodes, caps etc. "multiface" style.
