old server.

If it is, let me know here. Once everyone is updated to the new server I can get rid of diypedals.com.

Try a reload/refresh on your browser just to make sure.

I wonder what that means. Even if you reload/refresh that page? :icon_neutral:

Yup, even if I reload it.  It's from the old server.  Very strange.  Again, this is at my work PC.

Something else related.  I went through the new URL and got to the forum.  My address bar says www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/ but when I hover over any of the forums, the URL is 'diypedals.com'.  ??? :icon_confused:

Same here too.  :icon_wink:

I'm not worried about this, but the www vs... non www has got me a little worried.

Both diystompboxes.com and www.diystompboxes.com point to the new server for me, whether I do or do not type the http:// part by hand.

Perhaps the problem some are having with/without "www" is related to how their individual browser handles URLs entered without the full "http://www." prefix.

For me it's probably as simple as the corporate DNS servers not recognizing the change yet.  Very possible.

For me, both versions are pointing to the page with "9/26" message.

i get the 9/26 message if i don't type "www."  otherwise i am fine.

Umm, both of them have 9/26 at the top, so ya need to be a little more specific.

The new server's page says this right under the welcome:

"9-26-05 If you are reading this, then your DNS is pointing to the new server."

The old server's page says this:

9-26-05:

This server will be replaced soon. Once DNS points to the new server, this page will then point to the new server and will have links to the forum etc..

All direct links to diypedals.com will be broken. Currently this is a very small amount, that's why I need to change it ASAP, like right now. :icon_idea:

HAH!, and when you try to log out, you`re being sent to a dead link, too!!!

and if you don`t watch out, you`re gonna be hanged (hung?) publicly, like here:

Oh no.

I believe your DNS is not updated yet. The logout link is not dead, it's the address of the forum.

Can you please tell me what this means?

In what way has anyone done anything like this?

A.S.P.

your problem might have been, that the old forum was active for a while yesterday,
and whoever clicked in there ( and usually had the "always log on..." checkmark active)
was caught in there, and couldn`t get out - and even seemingly didn`t get thrown out after the PC was shut off for > 6 hours:

in the mean time, the parallell forum ran on and on, spreading notifs,
but whoever was caught in the forum-hoax, and clicked on the links in those notifs,
got: "error ocurred", 404, or "doesn`t exist".
