I finished my Octavia, and it worked fine (there was a little bit of what sounded like interferance...static-like) for about 5 minutes. Then the static got progressively worse, but the effect was still audible Finally, the effect cut out completely, and all I could hear was the static. I wasn't around any computer monitors or anything like that. The bypassed tone is perfect ... no interference whatsoever.

This happened before and it absolutely baffles me...I competely rewired the entire thing tonight and it did this to me. Any ideas if there is some component that might be at fault? I'm about to just buy a Voodoo Labs Proctavia, but I figured I'd give this one last shot if anybody had any ideas.

I assume you already checked the battery level, this makes a difference in the Tycho.
And if your'e using anything but new parts, I'd say cap's, at least the electrolytics...even though that it's doubtful these are faulty.
What do the transistor pin voltages say,, I wouldn't necessarily Know what they 'should be, but maybe posting them may give a clue.
  Yupp m, that's a wierd one...

Yep, I'm using a regulated power supply (a Dunlop DC brick), and I've already checked it out to be 8.99v with my multimeter (plus all of my other pedals run fine through it, so that's not the issue). I checked the transistor voltages and compared them with ones I found by doing a search, and they seem to be correct. All the caps are new, I've already gone through and resoldered everything just in case there was a cold joint, I've even changed out two of the caps because I wasn't sure about them. Still doesn't work right.

At first I thought it was just some interference because the pedal had a lot of gain or something...but I don't think that interference would make it cut out entirely (I tried it in different rooms and outlets as well).

So basically this pedal is either haunted or I am doing something incredibly stupid. Maybe it's time to move on.

Did you buy a board, or have you built from scratch on perf/stripboard ?
Dont give up, there is a mistake some where and after over 100 builds
I "STILL" make them !!  :icon_wink:
When there are no mistakes/duff components it WILL work right !
