The circuit is quite a simple one, but I cannot get the op275 op-amp from local store, even farnell! :icon_eek:
Is there a substitution?  ???
Or may be some modifications to circuit can be done when using TL072?  :icon_idea:
thx for help :icon_wink:

Looking at the circuit, I can't see why a TL072 wouldn't work fine.
Incidentally, Doug Self (who IMHO is no fool) doesn't have much time for the OP275:

Mind you, we aren't using them in a hi-fi application.. far from it!!

thx for your opinion@ :D
I know nothing about electronics except copy the numbers in schematic and get those components from store. :P
that's why i cann't see why a TL072 work :icon_eek:
thx again for your help!

Hi Kit,

The 5532 is probably closest in perfomance to an OP275 of any commonly available standard op amp.  Not to say a TL072 wouldn't work, but it will sound different.  Other obvious subs would be 4558 and 1458.

BTW,  as Doug Self says no single version of the OP275 is "available," although it used to be, the OP176 now replaced by the OP184.

A KA358, NTE928M, JRC4558 or really just about any dual opamp all sounded fine in that circuit. It's got a lot of gain, so I don't think any nuances of opamps will come out, other than noisy opamps like a 1458 or something.

BTW, I got my OP275s directly from Analog Devices - I just asked for a sample. I believe the www.mouser.com sells them, though. I did read that blurb on the OP275 that Doug Self wrote. I really am not sure why the designer chose to use that particular opamp...
