and it sounds pretty damn good! i had to make some unholy substitutions (4 in all... those 680k Rs were replaced with 680k carbon comps  :'() but it still works fine and has a surprisingly low noise floor. i used the layout that idiot savant sent me without incident (nice implementation of the gate pote, btw  :)) and it fired up after about a minute of debugging (i left one end of the emitter follower unattached). i used a rotary switch, though, but not in the manner it should have been. all i had was a 2p6t from rat shack, so i used it to control the tonestack-thing and the gating-thing. no tone bypass  ;D

it gets pretty heavy, and it doesn't murder your ears with treble like alot of DIY pedals try to. the gated sounds are interesting, but i already have a parallel universe so i don't see myself using them... it has quite alot of sustain, which surprised me. the fuzzes i have built prior have been pretty wimpy on sustain, but the Cheddar! delivers. i have not yet played it without the fuzz pot cranked, but if i think it's worth mentioning, i'll tell everyone. ;)

thanks a ton, idiot savant, this pedal was so much easier to perf...

Ah, another Big Cheese owner.

I love my modded version (although I use it on bass); I found that a simple pregain pot makes the unit more versatile.

Enjoy yours!

glad it turned out. I hope the layout wasn't too much of a pain to deal with?
this seems to be the fuzz of the moment. Thanks for verifying it for me!!:D
