the enclosures look like a diy casting[ not acid burning , LIKE SOME HAVE SAID ]. they are not true bypass and the workmanship is  :icon_eek: yikes, not so hot.
now to be fair this gent is a recluse[ sp? ] in the mountains. and the the pedals show it , but in a cool way, if you're into it.
one of the devices has a slow gear type feel w/ fuzz. the other octave one is not head turning. but....... they are cool
if you just have to have one. would i tour w/ one , no phucking way. the soldering is some of the worst i've ever seen ,BUT they do work.
he also makes guitars and the one i checked out is a nice piece of work ,wood wise.

glad i got to cheek them out,
                 peace to him and all,

I have heard the same thing about his construction from others.

I remember sand casting aluminum in high school metal shop. We made ashtrays and stick shift knobs. We could just as easily have been making effect enclosures. I'm surprised no one here has tried this.

That's too bad about the construction. From the clips and the buzz about the moonrock over at tonefrenzy, it sounds like one of the most innovative distortion pedals to come out in a long time, IMO. I especially like the performance control and morphing from one effect to another based on your guitar volume setting- that is a very cool idea.

The moonrock is clearly a sandcasting, however he makes others that are acid-etched Hammond-boxes.
He emailed me years ago when I posted pics of some similar boxes I had etched.

That's pretty amazing considering how long he's been making pedals.

i'm not try'n to slam the gent in any way. i'm just tell'n you guys my findings , like i said the devices work. the man that
brought them over has been good personal friends w/ him for years. the guitar he made was totally cool and one of a kind .
the man has had these pedals for yr's , perhaps these were some of first ones , i don't know.
i wish him all the best and i'd love to meet him some time, it's only 2 hr's away.
                       peace,

I didn't mean to imply that, Tom --nothing wrong with calling it like you see it. Maybe they were very early examples.
