EPE magazine has started a series of articles in the latest edition (Nov 2005) that 'provide a broad-based introduction to electronics for the complete newcomer'. 

Chances are if you're using this forum you'll know a lot of the stuff covered in part 1, but it's worth following over the next year as I'm sure it'll fill in some gaps along the way.  In this month's issue there's also an article by R Penfold on using stripboard plus an intro to analogue switch ICs.

If nothing, the magazine is often worth buying for the Circuit Ingenuity and Circuit Surgery sections.

Where is this sold? I have not been able to locate it in Bolton or Manchester.
