Kustom amp fuzz?

wondering if anyone might recomend a distrotion/fuzz that approximates the fuzz sound built into those old kustom rolled & tucked amps. was listening to some ccr and while i'm not a huge fan, i've always enjoyed the guitar sound, especially the solos (good golly miss molly, born on the bayou, suzie q, etc). from what i've read, fogerty used the distortion that came stock on his amps.

Theres a better than average chance, germanium transistors were used. That might get you to the device ball park. You'll really need a schematic in this case.pl
