Recommend a good solid state power amp.

I'm looking for a mono power amp. Discrete or IC, around 40-60 watt RMS output power. Want to try my hand at solid state amps, you see. Too much tube amps(oh, oxymoron police!!!lol).
Any info appreciated! :)

LM3886...there is even a layout fot it at GGG ( i think..)..or was it at tonepad?..

I agree with the 3886. Wonderful little amp. I haven't tried that layout but I'm sur eit works well. Do a search for "3886" and you should get some results.

try LM4780 is twice the LM3886 in one chip (stereo) make it paralel you get 120W rms, find the datasheet from www.national.com there also the pcb on the datasheet,

Try search NET for "Combo 10". Simple schematic, easy-to-find components, up to 20 Watts RMS, NO ICs - full transistor (!!!). Good sound. A lot of positive reports.
