im trying to go about making a simple sustain type effect using opamps for the gain stage. i have a bunch of vtl5c2's. i've tried a few setups without any success. im thinking maybe use a 2 transistor setup to control the led like at the end of the colorsound suppasustain or roland sustain. as far as how to integrate this with an opamp gain stage im at a loss. any ideas?

I remember DOD's old compressor 280 was optocoupler based. Give that look up.
