hey guys,
Sorry if this topic was covered before.. but i modded my Dunlop crybaby for:
- True Bypass
- Volume/gain boost
- Adjustable vocing mod
- buffer removal

anyways.. my signal line goes:
Guitar --> Wah --> Boss NS-2 (MXR Microamp in loop) --> rack.

When i plug the wah in, it seems to add some highend, but not a "natural" sounding highend.  when i take it out, the tone gets tighter and that "un-natural" highend goes away.  This is when the wah is turned off.

anyway ideas of what can be causing this?

any info would help.

Thanks alot.

If you're using a DPDT or 3PDT for bypass, and it's wired correctly, the signal can hardly be 'effected'..barring some strange malfunction
it seems to add some highend
buffer removal...wierd...I'd double check the switch wiring, it should 'be' a 'wire' from input to output..through the switch.

hey Pete,
Here's the diagram I used for the truebypass mod.  i used a Carling DPDT switch:
True Bypass Mod

Mine is revision G.

Thanks

Yupp the switch's 'jack' connections [the poles of the sw] go to the board *somewhere...from your problem I derive that must be the circuit...when in bypass mode, true bypass will have a connection from input jack tip to output jack tip and nowhere else.
When I did True Bypass, I didn't follow anything except the wah schematic, found the input, and the output, and wired it for true bypass from memory...the I/O jacks to the poles, a wire across a couple throws, and the circuit I/O to the two remaining throw lugs...I think there's a diagram at AMZ and elsewhere for TBypass wiring.

Thanks Pete,
I'll try a different Crybaby Cirboard that I have here and see how it works.

by the way.. what kind of wires are recommended to use when wiring stuff like this?  I used whatever i had home and I am not sure if its the greatest quility cables.  Do the cables affect the tone anyways?

Thanks
