Hi guys,
Just joined, great forum... been tinkering for 5 years with pedals,

I've allready put a switch on my diy rangemaster clone, to bring in a different cap (.1 mf) and allow more lows through; so I can use it as a single stage overdrive too, (sounds very "amp-like").

I was thinking - (before I start drilling/soldering) if i put in a pot in series with the second cap, dispense with the switch and have this in parallel with the first cap,  would I have effectively a variable "Lows" pot?
The idea being - with the pot at full resistance, only the first cap would pass highs, retaining the sound of the original RM.
OR could there be an impact on tonality (loading etc)?

Many thanks, Grant.

Yes, you can do that. Check out how it's done on this circuit:

Is the "Input cap blend control"

It wont have impedance problems, don't worry about it. Many people reported very good results of this setup, at least in fuzzes.

Great, thanks for the info...

I know little of the nitty-gritty of electronics, but I had a feeling it would work...
