I bought an LPB 2UBE from a guy on Ebay and it arrived broken. I know it's my fault (it was one of those - I don't have an adapter to test it but it's new)  So I ordered one and tried it and it works on bypass but not when engaged. Also I saw it spark on the screw between the tubes.
I tried other tubes as well but it was a no go.  There is obviously something shorted because when I press on the box, the LED lights up (but it still doesn't work).

I've never messed with tube so my question is - Is there still harmful voltage in the circuit once the tubes are removed?  Will E-H fix it if I send it in?

Thanks in advance!!!

Most likely they will. I bought a 16 sec digital delay a while back broken and it just cost me 15 usd to get repaired and fed Ex'd back.

EH customer service  rocks!

Ill see if I still have the contact info around.

There could be high voltage in there and a look at its power supply might give you an indication. But the voltage remaining after removing the power source isn't in the tubes, it's in the big caps. I rebuilt my Peavey 5150 tube amp (300v-400v or so, I forgot). I discharged the 400v caps after every power up, wore electrician's gloves, and moved patiently and carefully within.

On the other hand, some tube boxes (like Aron's Shakka Tube) run on 12.6VAC (heaters) and 18VDC (opamp, plate). I discharged the caps while trouble-shooting that build to be on the safe side, but didn't worry about gloves.
Pardon my poor English. I'm American.

Yeah  I opened it up and took a look inside and found that the power input was loose so I taped that and it stop cutting out on me but still no sound when engaged.  Also noticed that one of the big caps was kind of stabbed by one of the pot solders above it.   I don't know I think I will just wait to see if Jimbob can find the contact info or see if I can call them.

OK-Do this.. email info@newsensor.com and  info@ehx.com  and explain the problem. A response can take atleast a week. It did in my case. I cant remember exactly which of the two resonded cause it was odd. I had emailed electro harmonix but newsensor was the one that recsived that email and responded. Something like that anyways. You have to be patient with this. But they do eventually reply and send you the info in which you mail the product to somewhere in New York I think it was and within a week or so they resurn it via DLH or some other fast delivwery company. Good luck! BTW- Its a great effect.. Ive owned 3 and sold all of them for the $$$ but had I not needed the cash Id have kept it.

WOW!! I just received an email from them stating that I can send a MO for $15 and the unit to them for repairs.  If the unit requires more than a basic repair they will give me an estimate.
Thanks for your help Jimbob!

I got it back from New Sensor today!  $15.00 sent with the pedal for it to be fixed.  They are an awesome company.  Shipped back via UPS.  Took less than 2 weeks to get it back.  The pedal is really nice and warm and gets a good saturation when you let the first boost the next.  Thanks for your help Jimbob!

Your welcome. Imagine buying a new 16 second delay w 2 broken switches and EH says 15$ to fix. Simply Awsome! I actually really like the effect too despite the poor reviews.
