Yes.  See?  You DO know something.

That particular style of phone jack, while not as readily available as the more traditional type, is one helluva lot more straightforward.  I can think of plenty of times when I and other folks have wondered why their batteries drained overnight, only to find that the battery lead had been soldered to the wrong lug.  Not a single one of them involved this sort of phone jack.

Thanks, Mark. I really don't know much but I'm trying to learn.

I gutted a $20 Guitar Research Wah and shoved my old '87 Cry Baby guts in the GR's chrome enclosure. SWEET LOOKING!

The Guitar Research pcb has those jacks on it. I'm going to make a 1 knob version of Dunlop's Q-zone pedal with the Guitar Research wah guts.

just make sure you make the connection to the correct side of that jack!

Effectively it is three mechanical NC switches that are operated by the insertion of the plug.

On 'regular jacks, if you follow the separated metals through the 'insulation sandwich' you can find the lug assigned to tip ring or sleeve.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

Yes, that's an important one too. If you connect the lugs on the wrong side, it'll just unconnect them when the plug is inserted and you will be facing another day or two of debugging for a dumb reason. Been there. Just spectate it closely as you insert the plug or use the continuity mode on your tester.
