Led/Ldr anderton wah retrofit Led color question???

Ei guys... anyone here knows whats the best Led color and what size (3mm or 5mm's) to use for the Anderton Led/Ldr wah retrofit? I've read on other reviews that the Ldr's has a wavelength vs.relative sensitivity issue.

Meaning to say that LDRs do not respond to all colours the same way. Depending on what colour the LDR is exposed to it may not operate to it's full specified resistive range.

Can anyone here have a good suggestion or idea what kind/color/size of Led to use with this Led/Ldr Anderton wah retrofit project???

I believe LDR respond best to yellow light.

Quoting the "Catching a Wavelength" section in the above article:

"Which colour depends on what material the LDR uses."

and

"the best colour for CdS is green and for CdSe is red."

As for what size LED to use I tend to use what fits the physical size of the LDR. I've been using very small LDRs lately so I've been using 3mm. On most other sized LDRs I use 5mm. I recommend heat shrinking the two together. Black tubing works well. I probably wouldn't use a 3mm with a large body LDR mostly for mechenical reasons like the 3mm LED could slip out of the heat shrink tubing.
