Slightly OT: stereo delay outs and volume drop

I have re-arranged my rig (again) and it is sounding great, using a pair of small amps, an Ampeg Jet and a Traynor Bassmate through a closed 1x15, which fills in the missing bottom & punch.  Sounds huge, without getting too loud.  The last pedal in the chain is a Boss DD3 running stereo outs through a transformer type splitter (Ebtech) to the two amps.  The only problem is that when I kick the delay in and it is set on anything but the shortest settings, there is a big volume drop, since, obviously, the dry signal has just lost half of its amplification.  (BTW, I have the straight signal going to the Ampeg and the delayed signal to the Bassmate--figured less highs on the digital echos can only be a good thing.)  Since the DD3 (and others of its ilk) was obviously intended for this sort of thing, I wonder if anyone hasn't come up with a more elegant solution than, say, kicking on a booster every time you turn on the delay.
