ross comp hiss??

Hi all,
Built myself a ross compressor but finding alot hiss/noise. previous ross builds also using 2n5088 were dead quiet. tried swapping out transistors no avail. Audio probe couldn't help either. Could it possibly be a bad electro cap?

Could be, more likely a dry solder joint or bad resistor. Noise almost always originates from resistors. Could be the OTA, have you tried swapping that out? Try using some low hfe 2N3904's, that might help a little.
