Dynamic switcher?

Has anyone built a circuit that fades an effect in/out dynamically?  For example, as you strike a chord, your awesome distortion could morph into a sparkly chorus effect as the chord loses amplitude.

I know someone manufactures a pedal that does this sort of thing with a Vactrol but I can't remember who and I don't think they had a schematic anyway.

It's easy. See "Audio VCA applications" at GEO, and think what you can do with an envelope extractor. The result is easy.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

Thanks R.G. I'll check that out too.

Thanks, R.G. It's probably me, but I couldn't find a reference to that on your site.  Can you tell me what section it's in?  I think I looked everywhere.   :icon_sad:

is probably the required site. I can never find anything at Geofex, so I use google (in this case I searced for
vca geofex  ). It's a mistake not to read EVERYTHING at geofex, at least once.

Thanks Paul.  In fairness, it was on the front page under "Applications of an audio Current Controlled Amplifier." Posted 2/14/04.  I just didn't see it searching for "VCA" on the site.

As a followup, the stompbox I was grasping for was the Toadworks Enveloope.

The double meaning of looper makes it hard for someone who's already search challenged.

GEO is hard to navigate.

I had an offer from a guy who does web pages to revamp it for me to make things easy to find. I said sure, help me out. I never heard from him again. Scared him off when he saw what he got into, I guess.

I have several designs for fadeover morphers to fade from one loop to another for a similar kind of effect. I didn't envision doing it envelope controlled, but otherwise it's the same thing.

Is it just me, or is that "Applications of an audio Current Controlled Amplifier" cut off in places (some paragraphs go to nowhere) and a few typos here and there (shouldn't the "-1" building block be labelled inverting, not non-inverting)?
