Hi everyone,
I have a friend that wants a compressor and a screamer in one enclosure with three switches, individual on/off plus a switch to turn both on simultaneously.  Is there a way to do this with dpdt or 3pdt switches?  Thanks for your help.

Click on the "Tech Pages" link on the left.
Then click on the "Switching and Wiring" link.
Plenty of info.

frankly I would just put the two switches close enough together so I can whomp on them both at the same time!

Here is a way I've done it before. I also added in a loop send & return using 2 normally closed jacks. That way you could expand the master on/off by plugging other FX in the loop like a chorus or flanger. If nothing is plugged into the loop jacks the signal continues on & back to the master bypass switch.

The only foreseeable disadvantage is that the master bypass switch must be on for anything else to work. Another note: you could add another bypass switch for the loop send & return. Pretty flexible setup. TPDT switches are shown, but LED’s left off of clarity.
