I was also thinking that surely the CryBaby wah pedal must be in the top ten, or maybe even the top five all time big sellers.

Interesting points, nelson. I don't know that I would go far as to say a certain circuit sounds stereotypical, but some of them certainly were/are overused. Still, some people use run of the mill guitar effects like a FF, TS, or whatever and have their own unique/signature sound and don't sound "stereotypical". The other side of the coin is that some people buy into the fallacy that if they get a 60s Strat and an original TS808/TS-9 Tube Screamer that they'll sound like Stevie Ray Vaughn. SRV sounded like he did mostly because of who he was as a musician and how he played. Sure, the stuff he used is a factor, but it's not everything. To me, it was his uniqueness that made him what he was. I appreciate that as I'm absolutely not interested in trying to sound like anyone but myself, with my own unique style and sound. Sure, I've got a few major influences, but I don't try to copy them. They are a wonderful source of ideas and inspiration, though.  Anyhow, in the case of the TS, I can see why it is cloned so much - it's just a good circuit! :icon_wink:

I really have to remember to avoid posting when I have had too much to drink.
