AMZ minibooster and an OD1 clone. Both built using Retex boxes (spanish made Hammond-like enclosures but half the price ;). Me happy with them. Damn DIY community, I can't stop building pedals.... :icon_mrgreen:

chokeyou

is there an online (and hopefully US) distributor of those boxes?

Connoisseur of Distortion

yes, the boxes actually look very nicely finished...!

MartyMart

Cool, very "Smart/Industrial" look  :icon_biggrin:

   They look sturdy.
  Nice Boxes.
THere is an advantage to not worrying about paint...not worrying about scratched paint.

I keep thinking that my next build will be on an unpainted box (only clear coat), but I don't know why I never get around to it.

I dig the Tele knobs.  Very cool looking.  It's nice to see I'm not the only one who doesn't paint the boxes.  I prefer that industrial look too.  With the use mine have been getting, it's a lot easier to dust them off than to touch up scratches.  :D

I liked the way the pots and the "overdrive" label were placed, very nice =]

Nice! I dig the knobs. I have the same ones on my guitars (Schecter), but they are for knurled shafts, and I was planning on using similar ones for pedals.  I'm not very familiar with teles.. were your knobs the same way?  Did you bore them out to fit a .25" smooth shaft or did you use knurled shaft pots (or however you spell it)???  If they are .25" smooth shaft, where'd you get them? Thanks!

Thanks for the comments. Really, I wasn't aware these were tele knobs. I just happened to have a bag with some of them, and I thought the "all chrome" finish was cool.  I really like this unfinished-finish  :icon_mrgreen:. The tele knobs only have one (big) drawback. You can't see the setting, looks cool but in a gig situation , the "normal" knobs are better.

The knob placement on the OD wasn't for the sake of it. It was the only way I could fit the board inside the box.

Yeah these boxes are cool. Really, they are so similar to the Hammond ones, just half the price. Bummer, they don't have any sized like the 1950BB :icon_confused:

I think that's the only thing I haven't tried! :) ... I may give it a go when I have a stab at making my own PCBs ...

put a sharpie marker dot on the knobs,

I like the pedals!!

those are a nice LED color.  They look teal, unless my eyes are bad.

Sharpie marker? Yes definitely. It is difficult without any kind of indication. I tried a black dot with one of these permanent markers but still it's hard to see.

The LED's are Hughes & Kettner spare parts, I think these are the LED they use for the Triamp and Duotone amps. BTW, the switches are also Hughes & Kettner spare parts, Knitter brand. They are much more silent and smoother than the usual Carling switches.

maybe try a dab of  a white marker then,

or use your ears  :D
