Pedal Setting Reader - Is this possible?

I have tried this with a voltage meter and it did in fact create a change when the knob was changed. My question now becomes: how do I decide what kind of LED voltage meter to get? What amperage or volt limit do I need? How do I power it? Honestly, these questions can be answered but it doesn't mean I can do it. I need someone to mod it. I have emailed a few places with two replies: 1 of "sounds good, too busy" and "too much work." Anybody know a place that might do it?

ok, LED panel meters are pretty generic, get the cheapest you can find and chances are it'll be fine. It should come with some vague instructions as to how to set the voltage range using fixed resistors. It should also give you an idea of a suitable power supply, it may even work off a 9V battery. Perhaps get a small plastic box to mount it in... It's not the kind of thing that a business will do for you I would think, maybe find a friend or friend of a friend to do it for you. I would encourage you to try it yourself though, after all, DIY is the name of the game here!

When I need to have this kind of capability I use a digital multiFX unit. Any of the other ideas mentioned here are far too elaborate for someone who doesn't have a lot of electronics knowledge.

I have occasionally used two similar FX boxes with different settings if I need to switch between 'preset' settings. I have also sometimes thought about making a digitally controlled analog multiFX unit but I still haven't started learning about microcontroller programming. I wanted to start on a microcontroller controlled loop selector like the one that Carl Martin makes.
