I accidentally connected my MXR 18-volt wall mart to my Boss power daisy chain.

I noticed if after about 5 seconds of being on and immediately shut off everything.

In the chain were a Boss DD-3 and a DS-1.  Both seem to be working fine but I noticed that now the pedals can be turned on even if there is no plug in the Input.

So where do I start looking for damage?  Is it even worth the bother to fix?

IIRC most of the electrolytics in BOSS pedals are rated for 16V.  If you put 18V through them for a few seconds, chances are they're OK - they may be rated for say, 20V surge.

If the pedals appear to be working correctly, I wouldn't worry about it.

Is that when they're powered via the DC plug? That's normal operation I think.

niftydog, yes you are right it was normal operation if you use the DC plug.  I found out last night by doing all possible combinations (wall-mart, battery, both vs with and without plug in input jact).  I am used to running the DS-1 on batteries and I assumed all of them worked the same way all the time.

cd, thanks for the reply.  Yes everything sounds OK so I will stop worrying about it.
