I read through a couple of threads mentioning the XR2206 and I would like someone to follow up on how this IC can be used as an LFO or as a ring modulator.

I successfully breadboarded Erik's simple oscillator with it and tinkered a little, but I would really love to get it to go low enough to be a decent LFO circuit, and if I can build one into a ring modulator as well, then hooray!

I´m interested in this too, found my drum synth circuit in the attic last summer. I think I should order some xr2206 chips from smaal beer after christmas for my tremolo project (got my paypal working, I jammed it and was unable to use it for months)

I have some Elektor lfo circuit somewhere, maybe I could partially redraw it and post it some day later this week, I promise

I built a simple trem awhile back using a XR2206 since I had a few lying around. Worked well I thought.

Rodgre,

Have you taken a look at Exar's app notes on the chip? That's pretty much where I came up with the simple signal generator; just cut their design down to sine only in audio frequencies.
