Mini Ruby amp

Hi,
I'd like to make runoffgroove.com's Ruby amp. Which one is better for clean sound: stock version or with bassman mod?

If you want super clean then I'd go for the stock one, but use an LM386-N4 and appropriate parts so that you can run it off 18V.

I made the one w/the bassman mod....and really like it.   If I recall....that mod replaces a pot (which controls gain) w/a resistor that doesn't go as far*into the red*.  Because *your chip may vary*....I'd build it stock...find the spot where your distortion sets in....measure the pot....replace w/a resistor of your measurement...and then perhaps tweak a cap or two for tone.
