what boost with BSIAB2?

My TS-9 and Rangemaster have little affect when in front of the BSIAB2 while their use behind the BSIAB2 is notieable but not quite what I am after.  Does anyone have a boost (clean) which works well with the BSIAB2?  I have an 8.7K bridge humbucker and want a bit more boost to get further into 80's metal territory.
