I bought 40 switchcraft jacks, 40 Boss style knobs, 40 battery snaps, all for about $80. The jacks (advertised as new switchcraft stereo and mono jacks) were definitely NOT switchcraft (more like switchcrap)and used, and not a single knob would fit on a 1/4" shaft (as advertised). This guy is shady! He doesn't show his feedback and he has changed his ID a couple of times. Please be warned and don't make the same mistake I did (I should have known better). Good luck and happy building!!

Bummer ...... sorry to hear about that, I will only buy from people with a good history ..... and
even that can be "faked/stolen"  !!!

I bought 50 MN3101 & 50 MN3007. I'm still waiting.

Apparently his account is suspended.   ::)

I mentioned that last night.  All of a sudden they were just... gone.  Someone, I think on this forum, mentioned having problems with the mn3*** chips purchased in bulk and I tended to avoid them for that reason.

Occasionally you can find a CryBaby bass wah in near-new condition for real cheap.  I got mine for $30 shipped.  I've been burned a couple of times over the years, but overall Ebay rocks if you're careful.

I had the same problem.  The jacks suck, and the knobs will not fit.  The SPDT switches were cheap but at least they worked.  That guy sucks!  I hate to say it, but I will never buy from China off Ebay again.

I remember looking at those auctions for switch craft jacks. He kept putting words inbetween switch and craft, indicating to me they werent switchcraft jacks. But working part time in sales while I am at uni, I tend to pick up on these things.

There is a bulgarian ebayer who sells tubes and old germanium transistors for cheap. I recently bought a couple of Mullard ECC83 and ECC81 for 5 dollars each. Shipping was cheap too. 30 russian germs too.

Havent recieved them yet, but his feedback is good.

I bought from him 3 times with no problem. Then bought again and paid, then ebay sent me this email!

Please be advised that the following auction:

7355822753 - LOT**50 PCS MN3101 CHIPS , IC'S

was ended early by eBay. The auction was ended due to the account suspension of the seller.
All results for this auction are null and void.

But I already paid...? Money is not back in my paypal account, how can it be void?

I got the same email but it was for a transaction that took place over 6 months ago.  What's up with that?  I hope that your chips went out in the mail before the hammer fell Mike...

Normally in a forum when you find that others have had the same experience as yourself you say "whew I'm glad I'm not the only one", but in this instance I wish I was the only one. I was hoping I had this experience before any one else had to. Sorry to those who have gotten burned like myself, but don't give up faith in human kind just yet! ;) Thanks for all the responses!

I've exactly the same problem:

At least he is answering my emails quickly, he claims that he sent me the chips anyway.

I guess the lesson for me to have learned is that I should support those who are in the business to help us, ie. SmallBear and PedalPartsPlus, Aron etc. There is more to buying than just a low price (I should know by now I've worked in retail/service for 10 years). These guys also offer reliability and great service with their products. I guess the moral of the story is, "if it seems too good to be true, it probably is".

I have a feeling someone may have hacked his account. He has 2 different email addresses (hotmail and yahoo). When I email him I CC both. When I first asked, he said he shipped them already. THen I got another email from the other address saying he would ship after the ebay problem got solved. Account hackers can screw up anyone :(

I agree we should support Small Bear, Aron, etc and just ask Steve how much I support him! :)

Sometimes though the lure of cheap chips is too great and I cannot refuse the game.

Uhm... wait a moment... Mike, are you saying that you won  that auction?:
"7355822753 LOT**50 PCS MN3101CHIPS , IC'S"

That is the same auction I   won... It was a multiple Item auction, I guess. As I said before he claims that he sent the ic's.

I will keep contact with him.

There is nothing wrong with eBay, just some of the people that abuse it. ALWAYS research your buyer ahead, especially if overseas. I won't ever buy from Southeast Asia on eBay because of all the fraud.

A good idea is to use a seperate credit card for eBaying, that way you have the credit card companies to file fraud charges against crooks.

That's a bummer that you got scammed. I was scammed twice, and just had to swallow it!!!  :icon_redface: :icon_frown:

I also got one of those CryBaby bass wahs for $20 plus shipping. I think the total was like $27 or something like that. It's rare when that happens, but sometimes it does. I have bought several things from people overseas and haven't been burned... yet.

Perhaps the "safe and cheap" days of Ebay are behind us  ... :icon_cry:
Though, I just got a gorgeous old Japanese Aria Chorus for £16   !!
I totally agree about supporting steve/aron/banzai etc and I never buy
outside of Europe and the USA

I have this guy on my MSN list from china, he sources parts. I dont think the problem is where the ebayers is from. Look at their feedback and judge. Or take the risk on something cheap before you dive in and spend 60 bucks. Paypal offers protection of up to £100 on ebay transactions. If the goods dont turn up, file a claim via paypal, and via ebay. You will prob get your money back. Or atleast some of it.
