Hi.

I'm new here and I must say this is a great place.  :icon_surprised:
I'm about to modding a SD-1 and are going to test several configs.
What I would like to know more about is using mosfet's or jfets i the clipper section. Standalone or in junction with leds, diode or transistors.
Sorry if this item already been debated alot but I can't find much info about it.
I've used the searchengine here without success.

They should give a nice OD sound, far from distortion.
Used often as clipper-to-ground. And even then its soft.

IIRC Arons "Insanity Box' [one of those schematics anyway] show's 'unusual' configuration of mosfet used as clipping diodes...worth a look...
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

There was an extensive discussion of this a month or so back, but I'm not sure the title or what to search.  John Greene and R.G. contributed substantially.  Might check their posts.   :icon_cool:

That is the one.  Might also try the Fender SS clipping arrangement shown.  It sounds pretty good.
