Grounding a brass master transformer??

Do the the prongs on the side of this transformer need to be grounded? The board for this project from GGG has pads and holes drilled that line up perfectly with the prongs but they just look like mounting prongs or stand offs to me. I checked my Octavia and they weren't grounded, although there were pads on that board that line up too.
