Hi,

Can anyone tell me what might cause a phaser to pop? i don't know what type it is, but it has six nec 741 's .

It did this soon after i got the guitar which its mounted in.

I bodged a repair by puting a wire between two resistors, that seemed to eliminate the popping but that makes it full wet .

I've now disconnected the wire  --- worked fine about 50 % wet dry no popping, as i've  taken it out of the guitar it was in

i pushed the wire across to see if it go wet again... hoping that i could turn this into a psudo depth control by adding a pot,

it went crazy again.... it fizzes and then pops several times and so on... the effect is still there but it is unuseable ... as it was before the bodge

bodging the resistors again  i loose the pop but fully wet again.

Any fix for this?

Thanks

Funny thing is that it worked fine after i disconected it from the preamp that it was with.  its like there's a build up of current somewhere, but the thing works when bodged...  some how buy pushing the resistors together its set the problem off..... huh? , starts up again after a moment when the battery is taken out.
