Hi there
I'm about to endeavor to build a Ross Phaser, which requires 3 LM13600 ICs. Small Bear doesn't seem to carry these ICs, and Mouser doesn't either but offered a cross-referenced NJM13600...anyone knows if these chips will work and if it will degrade the sound?

Thanks

Sorry Mark, you're saying that this LM13600 chip is the same thing as the NJM13600? Why do manufacturers change their prefixes?

To show who made it, so that OEM people can know which supplier they can contact for volume pricing and supply.  LM = National Semiconductor, NJM = New Japanese Radio  The chip will also have information indicating which batch, but obviously that holds no use for ordering anything does it?

Same thing as getting a 4558 from any of half a dozen companies.  Are there internal differences?  Yeah, maybe some small ones.  Will they matter in this application?  Unlikely.

I just ordered mine for my upcoming ross phaser project from mouser they have both the lm13600 and lm13700. From what I have read it wouldn't make an aaudible difference between the two and the lm13600 is cheaper, just be sure to get the njm13600 D, if you need it to have legs, I guess the other version is for surface mount.

NE5517 (the Philips version of LM13700) is fine, as well. And easier to get in Europe.
