I've been in the process of repairing a friends broked Metal Zone (MT-2) but can't seem to identify the problem.
This is quite frustrating considering I'm at Texas Tech for Electrical Engineering right now...

Anywho, the bypass mode works fine but when the pedal is clicked on, the light turns on and nothing happens.
Somebody else posted in the forums about this already but found no solution to the problem. I did manage
to find a parts list for the pedal, so I was considering replacing all of the transistors and op-amps, but this
would be more of a last resort. Anybody else had this problem with the Metal Zone or any other Boss pedals?
I don't currently have a DVM up at school but I can probably find somebody with one. I'm guessing the Boss
no load switching system bullshit is still intact, but without a DVM I can't get much further than that. Any suggestions?

I had a similar experience with mine.

What happed was the some connections where the ribbon cable meets the board became disconnected (due to wear and tear from opening the pedal up multiple times for modifications).

I traced the problem down by downloading the schematic (do a search and you will find it) and build yourself an audio probe. This is how I was able to track down the problem with mine.

Keep us posted.
