Do you have the PCB for this bluebox ???
Please

Do you think mpsa05 or bc169 will work instead of as 2n3904 (original MPSA18 or2n5088) ::)
Sorry for my bad english !!

sorry for the stupid question about the pcb it's ok i have it :icon_redface: :icon_redface: :icon_redface: :icon_redface:
But my question is always open for the transistor question :icon_rolleyes:
Sorry for my bad english !!

The transistors are actually being used more as gates than for any boosting or tone-shaping gain.  The envelope/rectified signal coming through D2 is used to turn the transistors on when there is enough input signal to produce good tracking by the flip-flop chip (4013), and essentially turns those transistors off when the signal starts to fall too low to get reliable octave-division (i.e., it starts to sputter0.  So, just about any modest hfe NPN will probably do.  You MAY have to experiment with values of R13 and R14 to get the appropriate gating from transistors that are VERY different from a 2N2222 or 2N3904, but you should be able to get it working with any of a wide variety of NPN transistors.

I did it with BC169 and it doesn't work...
Maybe i've made a mistake...
No sound i've only a HUUMM any idea on what's wrong...
Sorry for my bad english !!

hank reynolds 3rd

I've built two,one with 2n3904 and the other bc550,and they both work ok (next one is going to be souped up,with as many mod's as poss!!)
maybe check the orientation of the trannies (nothing to do with pete burns, for those who are watching uk big brother...fnar fnar!!! couldn't help myself!!)

On avait eu un fil/thread apropos des termes techniques pour les composants dans presque tous les langues parlées par nos membres, mais ça fait presque 3 ans si je m'en souvien bien.

I've check orientation of the trannies as you said and test them before with my "multimeter" (is the good word)
I use bc169.
Where this thread cause i'm shure it could be interesting to me.
