BSIABII vs Thunderchief - better build?

Hi guys.
I've spent far too many hours trying to figure out what's wrong with my BSIABII build and am at the point where I want to rebuild it.

Before I go to that effort, I wonder if anyone here has built both the BSIABII and the Thunderchief?  If so, which one is more convincing to your ears?  Both are going for the cranked Marshall sound but it looks like the Thunderchief has more control over the drain on each JFET.

I happen to have all the parts for the Thunderchief (yes, I'm a distortion pedal junkie) but thought I'd ask the pros what they think before committing a half day and consuming another switch, pair of jacks, etc...

Thanks in advance.
Mike

All I can contribute is that a good friend and fellow rookie at pedal building built the thunderchief, but had so many problems trying to get all the voltages set with the trimmers that he finally pitched it...in fact it killed his whole building urge -- DAMN YOU THUNNNNNNNDERCHIEEEEEEF!!!  Meanwhile, my other guitarist loves the BSIABII I LOANED him, and now he won't give it back...

The ones I built are alot different.
The TChief is like...heavy amp sim, distortion is alot different...
BSIAB uh Cranked heavy 'amp type' distortion...Duzz Fuzz.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.
